Birchwood Garden Tour

Where: Hazen’s Notch Road, Montgomery 

Details: See more than 700 rhododendrons in bloom against the backdrop of the northern Green Mountains. Walk the educational paths. Benefits the Friends of the Montgomery Town Library. Admission is $7 per person; children 12 and under will be admitted without charge.

Memory Loss and the Power of Music

When: 3 p.m. Friday, June 13

Where: Bent Northrup Memorial Library

Details: Join Karen McFeeters Leary, a certified music therapist, for a presentation on how music can help people with memory loss. Group sing-along and ice cream to follow.

Pork Roast Dinner

When: 4:30-6 p.m. Friday, June 13

Where: Carolyn's Highgate Methodist Community Center, 3227 VT Route 78

Details: Listen to local bands perform Americana to bluegrass on Wednesdays all-summer-long. Bring a blanket or lawn chair. Food available to purchase.  

Stories of the Blues

When: 6:30-8 p.m. Saturday, June 21

Where: Swanton Public Library

Details: Celebrate Make Music Day with a presentation about the evolution of the blues. Join local musician and vintage instrument collector Missisquoi Slim in an exploration of the artists, instruments and stories of the time. Free admission.

37th Annual Pie & Ice Cream Social

When: 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 28

Where: Fairfax Community Center

Details: Kick off the summer season with music from the Fairfax-Fletcher-Westford Band while enjoying homemade pie al-a-mode. Jelly-jar auction with prizes.
