North East La Penitence, Talibans, Family, and Albouystown were among the winners when the ‘Settlement of all Arguments’ Street-ball Championship continued on Wednesday night at the Back Circle Tarmac.
North East La Penitence dismantled Stabroek Ballers B 4-0. On the other hand, Taliban squeaked past Z-Tekk 3-2. Meanwhile, Family schooled Thomas Street Ballers 3-0. Similarly, Albouystown clipped Victoria Eagles 2-0.
Also, Ballers Empire bested Unity Ballers 1-0 while North Ruimveldt edged Bent Street B by the identical score.
In other results, West Side Ballers downed Red Force 2-0 while Genesis edged Sophia B 2-1.
The event, which continues today at the same venue, features 32 teams divided into eight groups of four competing in an initial group stage format.
Upon the conclusion of the group stage, the top two finishers from each segment will advance to the elimination segment.
Group A comprises Back Circle A, Broad Street, Red Force, and West Side Ballers, while Group B contains Back Circle B, Team RV, Genesis, and Sophia B, and Group C is made up of Bent Street A, Thomas St Ballers, Family, and Stevedore Ballers.
Group D contains Taliban, Road Warriors, Z-Tekk, and Gaza Squad, while Group E features Gold is Money, Unity Ballers, Lodge Ballers, and Ballers Empire, and Group F features North East La Penitence, Stabroek Ballers B, Albouystown, and Victoria Eagles.
Group G consists of Stabroek Ballers A, North Ruimveldt, Laing Avenue, and Bent Street B, while Festival City, Spaniards, MJ Ballers, and Gunners make up Group H.
The winner of the event will receive $500,000 and the championship trophy, while the second, third, and fourth place finishers will pocket $300,000, $150,000, and $100,000, respectively, and the corresponding accolade.
