McDonald’s axing five items from menus TODAY including first ‘adult Happy Meal’

MCDONALD’S is pulling the plug on five popular menu items from TODAY, including what’s been dubbed the first ever ‘adult Happy Meal’.
The Minecraft Meal, which only launched in March, is being binned just weeks after it hit menus.

It came with one of six collectable toys designed with grown-ups in mind, and cost £8.19 or £3.99 in the Happy Meal size.
Also on the chopping block is the Mars McFlurry, a fan favourite made with creamy ice cream, chunks of chocolate-covered nougat and lashings of caramel sauce.
It was priced at £2.19 for a regular and £1.69 for a mini.
Two burgers are also getting the boot – the Philly Cheese Stack and McCrispy BBQ Smokehouse.

The Philly Cheese Stack, which set customers back around £5.29 solo or £6.99 as a medium meal, was made with two Irish beef patties, a melted cheese slice, grilled and crispy onions, pickles and cheese sauce in a toasted bun.
Meanwhile, the McCrispy BBQ Smokehouse featured a chicken breast in a crispy coating with cheddar, red onion, lettuce and smoky BBQ sauce, all served in a sesame-topped sourdough-style bun.
That one cost £5.79 on its own or £7.49 with fries and a drink.
Finally, the Raspberry and White Chocolate Pie is also being dropped.

The limited-edition Valentine’s treat arrived back in February and was priced at £1.99.

McDonald’s regularly refreshes its menu to make room for new items and seasonal specials so while these favourites may be gone for now, they might not be gone for good.
New items coming
Whilst fans are sad to see these popular items leave, it's not all bad for McDonald's customers.
In fact, from tomorrow, two brand new items are landing in stores and four much-loved favourites are making a comeback.
The new Frank’s RedHot Mayo dip is launching, offering a spicy twist to any order for just 50p.
Fans can also cool down with the new Frozen Cherry Lemonade, a zingy, sweet drink made for sunny days. It'll cost £2.99.
Meanwhile, the Biscoff McFlurry and Biscoff Frappe are returning.
The McFlurry is made with soft serve and a swirl of Biscoff biscuit crumb for £2.29, or £1.69 for the mini.
The Frappe, priced at £3.09, is a creamy vanilla and ice blend, topped with caramel-flavoured cream and more biscuit crumb.
Also back on the menu is the Steakhouse Stack – a beefy burger featuring two patties, cheddar, crispy onions, lettuce, red onions and black peppercorn sauce in a glazed sesame bun. It’ll cost £5.99.
The McSpicy x Frank’s RedHot will return tommorow, bringing the heat with jalapeños, crunchy lettuce, onions, Emmental-style cheese and Frank’s fiery mayo, all in a sesame bun.
That’ll be £5.99 solo or £7.99 with a Medium Meal.

This latest shake- up comes after one eagle-eyed customer spotted Maccies treats in the freezer section and immediately filled up their basket.
Footage showed a series of different frozen items similar to those on the McDonald's.
How to save at McDonald's
You could end up being charged more for a McDonald's meal based solely on the McDonald's restaurant you choose.
Research by The Sun found a Big Mac meal can be up to 30% cheaper at restaurants just two miles apart from each other.
You can pick up a Big Mac and fries for just £2.99 at any time by filling in a feedback survey found on McDonald's receipts.
The receipt should come with a 12-digit code which you can enter into the Food for Thought website alongside your submitted survey.
You'll then receive a five-digit code which is your voucher for the £2.99 offer.
There are some deals and offers you can only get if you have the My McDonald’s app, so it’s worth signing up to get money off your meals.
The MyMcDonald’s app can be downloaded on iPhone and Android phones and is quick to set up.
You can also bag freebies and discounts on your birthday if you’re a My McDonald’s app user.
The chain has recently sent out reminders to app users to fill out their birthday details - otherwise they could miss out on birthday treats.
