IOWA CITY — Iowa defensive back Kahlil Tate has entered the transfer portal Wednesday morning, he told the recruiting site Rivals.
Tate, a Chicago native, did not see game action in either of his two seasons with the Hawkeyes. The former three-star recruit had scholarship offers from Penn State, Michigan and several other upper-tier programs. He took official visits to Iowa, Wisconsin and Purdue.
Tate’s portal entry comes on the first day of the spring portal window. The portal will remain open through April 30. Players do not need to commit during the window, but they must enter during the 15-day period (unless they have graduated or there is a head coaching change).
