Former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel would reportedly be open to a return to the Premier League amid uncertainty over Erik ten Hag's future at Manchester United.

Tuchel has been one of the names linked with replacing Ten Hag at Old Trafford but has previously dismissed the story and insisted his only focus was on reaching the Champions League final with Bayern Munich. Reports earlier this week claimed that United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe had already made contact with Tuchel, who he is said to 'value enormously', about his plans for the 2024/25 season.

Although it is claimed a decision on the Dutchman's future won't be made until the end of the season, journalist Ben Jacobs reports that sources close to the German boss say he would be open to taking the United job. He adds that Tuchel feels he has 'unfinished business' in the Premier League and still wants to prove his worth.

Tuchel was appointed by Chelsea in 2021 and won the Champions League in his debut season before being dismissed the following year. He left his post after a Champions League group stage defeat to Dinamo Zagreb. After a solitary season in charge of Bayern, the 50-year-old will leave the Allianz Arena at the end of the season after it was announced that there would be a change in manager as part of a 'sporting realignment' at the club.

Elsewhere, United are claimed to be moving strongly to sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot. The 29-year-old saw a proposed switch to Old Trafford collapse last summer due to wage demands.

He later penned a new contract extension which is set to run out this summer, but according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, talks over an extension have stalled with the Italian giants reported to be open to parting ways with the Frenchman, who is claimed to earn £6million (€7m) per year.

Casemiro's future is in doubt after a disappointing second season under Ten Hag, while Sofyan Amrabat is expected to return to Fiorentina after an underwhelming loan stint. Meanwhile, Christian Eriksen could also be heading towards the exit door.
