Burnley have been linked with a Janaury transfer move for Coventry City forward Viktor Gyokeres.

The Clarets sit top of the Championship table after a successful first part of the season under new boss Vincent Kompany. The Turf Moor side have lost just twice in the 21 games they have played in the division so far.

Vincent Kompany's side are back in action next Sunday when they travel to Loftus Road to take on QPR. The month long hiatus which the Championship has been on during the Qatar World Cup will come to an end.

The January transfer window is little over a month away from opening for business. The Clarets could use it to add further reinforcements to their squad for the second half of the campaign.

According to journalist Alan Nixon on his Patreon page, the Clarets are interested in Coventry striker Gyokeres. The Sky Blues man is one of the Championship's top scorers this season with nine goals, the same as seven others including Jay Rodriguez.

Sweden international Gyokeres has been with Coventry since January 2021, initially on loan. He has 30 goals in 85 appearances for the club.
