The iPhone's Weather app is a great tool for checking weather conditions at different destinations. Whether you're an Apple user who frequently travels or a person who likes keeping track of the chance for harsh climates where friends, family, and colleagues live in various parts of the world, being able to see forecasts quickly can be very useful. Thanks to the iOS 15 update, users can add and arrange cities into a nifty list for easier review.

Apple's Weather app's recent redesign presents relevant weather information sectioned into organized data cards. Among many vital atmospheric statistics, users can quickly preview a 10-day forecast at their current location as well as insights into their vicinity's air quality, temperature levels, and potential for rain or snow. The locations list is one of the few features included in the Weather app that is not immediately available upon the first tap.

To start adding locations to iPhone's built-in weather app, launch Weather (cloud and sun icon) from the App Library. Tap the list icon on the bottom-right corner of the screen to access the weather list. Enter the name of the city, the zip code, or the airport code in the search field, tap the correct location from the results, and then tap Add on the top-right corner of the location page. Added locations will appear in their own card that showcases the location name as well as the local time, temperature—including the high and low ranges—and expected general forecast of the day.

Making Modifications To The Weather App’s Location List

iPhone Weather App Delete Location

Within the Weather app's locations list, users can enable notifications that'll alert them when rain or snow is starting or stopping in the area. To do this, tap Turn On Notifications and follow succeeding instructions on a card entitled Stay Dry that should appear on top of the list, providing they haven't been enabled before. Otherwise, tap the three-dot icon on the top-right corner of the main page, hit Notifications, then enable the toggle next to locations to receive notifications for. Locations can also be deleted from the list or rearranged.

To delete a place, go to the weather list and simply swipe left on a location and tap on the red trash can icon. Alternatively, tap on the three-dot icon on the top-right corner of the main screen and select Edit List. Then hit the red minus icon on the left of the location to be deleted, and tap Done. To rearrange the order of the different cities and locations on the list, touch and hold the location then drag it up or down the page. Users can also tap the three-dot icon up top and pick Edit List, touch and hold the three-line icon to the right of the location to be moved, and drag it up or down the list to change its placement.

Weather forecasts for locations on the list should stay up to date across all iOS devices when the user is signed in with the same Apple ID. According to Apple, only a maximum of 20 cities can be added to the Weather app's location weather list. More forecast information can be viewed through the built-in iPhone app's animated weather map (map-icon) which can be accessed through the bottom-left corner of the main page upon app launch or through the My Location card at the top of the Weather location list page.
