LCP antenna modules allow for faster data transmission speeds and are presently available on the iPhone X.

4x4 MIMO or Multiple-Input Multiple-Output standards allow for four communication channels between the cellular tower and the device.

The iPhone X is an important milestone in Apple’s history. It has brought certain new features to mobile telephony that will become a norm in the coming years. Apart from that ‘fat-free’ slim-bezel display and the witchcraft-like FaceID, the iPhone X also enjoys faster LTE speeds — thanks to faster LCP antenna modules. However, the next-gen iPhones will provide even faster Internet speeds to its users.

Renowned Apple analyst Ming Chi Kuo has stated on MacRumors that the next generation iPhones will use at least two LCP antenna modules like the current iPhone X does. However, the next-gen iPhone’s module will support the 4x4 MIMO standards in place of the current 2x2 MIMO standard. This also relates to the previous rumour of the next-gen iPhone using Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X20 LTE modem, which comes with native support for 4x4 MIMO standard.

LCP or Liquid Crystal Polymer antenna modules encourage higher frequencies, better thermal performance and lower moisture resistance compared to PI modules. 4x4 MIMO or Multiple-Input Multiple-Output standards allow for four communication channels between the cellular tower and the device. With an improved antenna module, the new iPhones will able to leverage faster Internet connectivity, putting it on par with other Android flagship offerings.
